Most of the stars rise and set just as the sun and moon do. But the North Star does not rise or set. If you were at the North Pole, the North Star would be right over your head. The North Star is right above the North Pole. Because of this, it stays in the same place in the sky. The earth spins around, but the North Star does not move.
